Lagos Big Boy, Mompha has been re-arrested hours after he called out the Nigeria Justice System for being corrupt.
Justice Mojisola Dada of a special offense court, Ikeja has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of suspected internet fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC is prosecuting Mompha on an 8-count charge of conspiracy and money laundering of over 6 billion naira.
Mompha who was arrested earlier by the EFCC on January 10th was arraigned and later granted bail (read it here)
However, The defendant, Mompha has failed to appear in court on the dates scheduled for his trial. Mompha didn’t bother showing up in court for his last adjourned date and the trial couldn’t proceed due to his absence.
The prosecution counsel, Mr. Oyedepo then urged the court to order an arrest on Momopha following his failure to show up for his court proceedings.
Following the request from the prosecution counsel, Justice Mojisola revoked the defendant’s bail and ordered his arrest, she further adjourned the proceedings till June 30th.
