The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson has resigned after less than three years in Number 10.
His resignation comes today, Thursday, July 7th as it ends an unprecedented political crisis over his future that has paralyzed Britain’s government.
The former prime minister in a speech at Downing street stated that “no one in politics is remotely indispensable”.
Boris stated that he feels sad to be giving up the best job in the world and he has fought so hard to keep it but he has to leave. He stated that the new leader would be announced next week.
Well, it’s no news that Boris has been involved in a series of scandals that has even pushed his loyal supporters to abandon him.
The leader of the opposition labour party, Keir Starmer, said it was good news for the country, that Johnson has decided to resign.
He also stated that it should have happened a long time ago. According to him, Boris has always been unfit for office”.
