Congratulations are in order for Nigerians, as Ese Brume wins the World Championship Long Jump Silver at the World Athletics Championship, Eugene, Oregon, USA.
Ese Brume placed second behind the German Olympic Champion, Malaika Mihambo, who continued her dominance in the women’s long jump by soaring to a second successive World Championship gold with a final leap of 7.12 meters on Sunday (Monday morning Nigerian time).

The silver medal was achieved with a leap of 7.02m, which was an improvement for Brume, who won a bronze medal last three years at the World Championship.
Brazil’s Leticia Oro Melo took bronze with 6.89m. Mihambo also beat Brume to gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
