Outspoken public speaker, Reno Omokri has revealed how the Nollywood industry is demarketing Nigerians outside the country.

There have been a lot of public outcry from top personalities in the

entertainment industry on reasons why the industry have to improve it’s standards

on the global stage.

With some top celebrities already paving way for the industry on the global stage,

Reno Omokri has disclose what the industry has embedded in the minds of

people living in diaspora.

According to the outspoken public speaker and social commentator, Nollywood

industry has given Nigerians an image that’s worse than being a fraudster.

Reno Omokri stated that Nollywood has conditioned people across the globe to see

Nigerians as a fetish people just because of the scenes we show in our movies.

Narrating what he went through when he went outside the country in 2011, Reno

Omokri noted that an American lady was scared of taking pictures with him just

because she was scared that she will be used as money ritual.

On the way forward, Reno Omokri advised that movies are meant to reflect our culture

just like movies in European countries but Nigerians movie are always scary and

infact devalue our personalities.

Omokri who just couldn’t hide his frustration on what the movie industry has

caused added that it’s high time they vhange their name to Jujuhood and not

Nollywood.
