Senator, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife have been reportedly arrested by the Uk police for conspiring to traffic a child to Nigeria for the purpose of harvesting the organs.
Daily Mail reports that the duo has been allegedly remanded in custody and will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ court.
The police confirmed that Ike Ekweremadu and his wife have been charged with conspiring to arrange to bring a child to the Uk to harvest the organs in Nigeria.
Charges were brought against the duo following an investigation by the Metropolitan police’s specialist crime team.
However, the police have reported that the child is safe but refused to disclose the gender or the age of the child, or even the location of the arrests.
The investigations were launched after the detectives were alerted to potential offenses under modern slavery legislation in May 2022, the force said.
