It took a 29th minute own goal from Korea’s Kim Do-Yeon and a 75th minute strike from Asisat Oshoala to secure a 2-0 win for Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the on going FIFA Women’s World Cup being held in France.
This is their first win of the campaign, having woefully lost 3-0 to Norway in their opening game.
They currently sit in 3rd place with 3 points, behind leaders France (6 points) and second placed Norway (3 points)
The Republic Of Korea are rooted at the bottom of the table and they face Norway next. The Super Falcons however, will face France in the last game of the group stage and stand a chance to qualify if they beat the hosts.
We wish our girls the best!
