Ghanaian president, Nana Akufo Addo has revealed that he will be donating 3 months salary to help fight Coronavirus in the country.

Nana Akufo Addo declared his intentions while addressing the nation of his

administration effort in ensuring the prevention and further outbreak of the

disease.

According to the President in his address, he has ordered the controller and

accountant general to deposit his three months salary to the COVID 19 fund; a fund

dedicated to raising money towards helping the needy and vulnerable amid c

crisis.

President Akufo Addo, however, concluded that Ghanaians can fight this virus if the measures put in place are adhered to.

The COVID 19 Fund is managed by an independent board of trustees and chaired

by former Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo.

As of 27th March 2020, Ghana has recorded 137 cases

with 4 deaths and 2 recoveries as they are one of the most ranked African nation to

have recorded such figure.

The president some days ago declared a partial lockdown for Kumasi and Accra

which will take effect from Monday at 1 am for two weeks.
