Arsenal announce manager Mikel Arteta has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The news was made official moments ago via the official Press team of the Arsenal football team.
According to Mirror UK, The club released a statement on Thursday evening confirming the
news, as worries continue to grow over the well-being of other figures in the sport.
The statement read: “The health of our people and the wider public is our priority and that
is where our focus is. Our thoughts are with Mikel who is disappointed but in good spirits.
We are in active dialogue with all the relevant people to manage this situation
appropriately, and we look forward to getting back to training and playing as soon as
medical advice allows.”
The News is has already been generating mixed reaction on social media as
Sports critic Grant Wahl took to his twitter account to express his shock and wonder why
the Premiere league would still be played in front of the fans this coming weekend.
